It was built on the orders of Suleiman the Magnificent and designed by the architect Sinan in 1560. The Al-Suleimanie Madrasa (school of Islam) was added to the southeast of the Al-Takie Al-Suleimanie complex by Selim II.
The Al-Takie Al-Suleimanie complex was restored in the 1968 by the Directorate General of Antiquities. It is one of most beautiful places of Damascus now. |
