Path: | Belarus / Minsk | Description: | In the XVII century on a hill near the Svisloch river a wooden church. In 1835 it burned down. A decade later, in 1847, in its place was built a stone church of Mary Magdalene. The construction was carried on people's donations under the guidance of the priest Peter Elenovskogo.
After the October Revolution, the Church of Mary Magdalene was closed, the dome was demolished and the building was given over to storage. After World War II, in 1949 the building housed the temple photo archive.
In 1990 the church once again returned to the faithful that literally revived him. At present, complex Church of Mary Magdalene is a very nice and cozy place. Once on the temple grounds, one would like removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. |
