In 1860, the monastery church was handed over to the Orthodox Church and was named in honor of Saints Cyril and Methodius, but just a few years to address the Synod renamed Holy Spirit Cathedral.
After the Bolsheviks seized power in 1918 the cathedral was closed. In the temple, placed the archives.
At present, the Holy Spirit Cathedral is wholly owned by the Orthodox Church and is one of the most beautiful of the Christian churches of Minsk. |
